She was blessed with two children, Marilynne (Ken Frank) Schultz and Ron (Alesia Roark) Klauer; seven grandchildren: Brenda, Roger, Monica, Ross, Dylan, Madi and Reno; six great grandchildren: Ty, Hannah, James, John, Lydia and Abigail. She also mothered countless pets.
Marti was a proud American who believed in service above self. She was a Rotarian, Paul Harris Fellow, Animal Adoption Advocate, and member of numerous organizations. She was generous beyond measure.
She was the founder and CEO of the iconic riverfront restaurant, Marti's Place at Ramsey's Landing for 40+ years. During this time, she provided countless careers and built lifelong relationships with employees and customers alike. As an avid reader, the books she read could be found for sale on any given day at the restaurant. All monies were donated to the cause she chose (usually the local food pantry or spay and newter group).
Marti peacefully left us to meet her maker and savior Jesus Christ on January 5, 2019. Following her wishes of cremation, her family will host a Celebration of Life at DeMotte American Legion on January 26, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. The dinner buffet will be open until 8:00 p.m. and cash bar is available. Please come visit, share a story, and have a toast to our beloved Marti.
