Simon Sackett was a Colonist. In founding and laying out the embryo city of Newtown, (three years later it was re-christened Cambridge) in the wilderness, Simon was a potent factor, but the exposure and privations of his mid-winter voyage on the ship Lyon had undermined his health and he died. Son of Thomas Sackett, II and Martha Strowde-Sackett.∼Born about 1602 based on date of marriage. Came from St. John Margate, Isle of Thanet, Kent to Massachusetts Bay in 1632 & settled in Cambridge.
Died in Cambridge between 5 and 10 October 1635.
Married at St. John Margate, Isle of Thanet, Kent, 6 August 1627 Isabel Pearce. She married (2) William Bloomfield of Cambridge and Hartford.
