Lola Jeane Wichers was born in Maurice, Iowa on June 5, 1942, and formerly lived in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She was a daughter of the late Garrett Wichers and Margaret Popma Wichers, and was formerly married to Kenneth F. Heys. Lola was a member of the Unity Reformed Church in Kentwood, Michigan. She was a retired commercial baker after 30 years, but her true love and passion was baking and decorating all kinds of cakes from her home.
Lola is survived by a son, Scott A. Heys and his fiance, Etsuko "Amy" Kagawa, of San Francisco, California, three daughters, Shawna L. Shane and her husband, Todd, of Belmont, North Carolina; Paula F. Heys, of Campobello, South Carolina, Tammy S. Craig and her husband, Brent, of New Castle, Kentucky, a grandson, Taylor Shane and granddaughter, Shelby Craig.
Lola is also survived by four brothers, Marlan Wichers and his wife, Darlene, of Orange City, Iowa; Myron Wichers and his wife, Bonnie, of Miles City, Michigan; Leon Wichers and his wife, Lois, of Sioux Center, Iowa; Robert Wichers and his wife, Wanda, of Orange City, Iowa; two sisters, Betty Pott and her husband, Frank, of Parkersburg, Iowa and Alma Engeltjes and her husband, Donald, of Orange City, Iowa.
In addition to her parents, Lola was predeceased by two sisters, Irene Zublis; Joyce Siemonsma; and three brothers, Russell, Donald and Allen Wichers.
