Vernon George Andersen was born March 27, 1947 in Bassett, Nebraska, to George and Agnes Nielsen Andersen. He is survived by his wife JoAnne Spence Andersen, sons Van, Robert (Kristie), Brett, and Josh (Andrea), and one daughter, Katrina. He has 13 grandchildren: Sheven, Stuart, Sara, Chelsea, Kelby, Austin, Kristen, Jordan, Jerika, Jazmyn, Mika, Dominik, and Piper. He is also survived by brothers Walter, Jerald, and Dennis, and one sister LaVonne Edghill. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Arthur and Allan.

Grandpa moved to Fish Haven when he was eight years old. He went to Fielding High School where he played football and basketball. This was when he met his wife JoAnne Spence.

Grandpa decided to see if he could make a living taking care of people's yards. He has worked very hard getting the business going and has made a living for his family ever since. It became a family business, and all of their kids, and now some of the grandkids, have helped with the business.

Grandpa loved country music. Grandma, Grandpa, his brother Allen, and Bryce Coates started a band and played all over the country for a few years. They were called The Bridgerland Blazers.

The night of November 20th, he woke up in night moaning that he wasn't feeling well. On November 21st he was taken back to the ICU and then was taken into surgery again. At 5:27 p.m., Grandpa passed away with all the family around him.

Funeral services were under the direction of Allen-Hall Mortuary, and took place Friday, November 30, 2018 at the Garden City 1st Ward Chapel, Garden City, Utah.
