"Emma Faye Bookout, 89, of Sedro Woolley, Washington, died Friday at the Bayside Health and Rehab Center, Bellingham. Mrs. Bookout was a native of Glenwood, Texas. She moved to Modesto in 1936 and lived here until moving to Sedro Woolley in 1988. She is survived by her daughter, Virginia Thompson-Adams of Sedro Woolley; and on grandchild and three great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Burlington City Cemetery, Burlington, Washington."

Emma was the daughter of Abner Albert / Albert Abner Adams of Rusk County, Texas (born 1859) and Malinda Elizabeth Leach of Panola County, Mississippi (1863-1942). She was the last of nine children.
She met Alva Carl Thompson in San Diego and their daughter Virginia Ruth Thompson was born there. Alva died in 1966. She then met and married widower Olan J Bookout after the death of his wife, Maude May Livers Bookout in 1973. They were married until his death in 1977. Virginia Ruth Thompson married second husband Alfred William Adams, Jr (1925-2014) in Florida in 1993.
