BAVER, Roy Lane, age 76, of Centerville, passed away on Tuesday, December 25, 2018 surrounded by his family. Roy was born on September 20, 1942 in Dayton, OH.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Baver and Winnie (Henn) Baver; sisters, Judy & Carolyn Baver. Roy is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Sandy; daughters, Denise (Dave) Willits, Diana Peeples, Dawn (Mike) Evans; grandchildren, Jason, Nicholas, Christian, Mikayla, Kaitlin, Ronnie, Maria, Jonathan; brother, Terry Baver; many other extended family members.

Roy was a member of IAFF, BOCA, Mason/Eastern Star, was a clown for the Shriner’s. He was in the first paramedic class in 1975 and was a firefighter/inspector for the Washington Twp fire department from October 1967-September 1996. Roy was an US Army veteran who earned a Good Conduct Medal and a sharp shooter title. He also sat on the American Festival Committee.

He loved music and was an accomplished trumpet player. He had a love for Elvis and that was his nickname on the Fire Dept. Roy loved playing practical joke and sharing stories of his antics. He loved to travel and all the adventures that came with. Roys greatest joy was spending time with his family.

Family will greet friends from 4-7pm on January 4, 2019 at Incarnation Parish Activity Center, 7415 Far Hills Ave, Centerville. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place the following morning at 11am at the church. Burial at Hillgrove Cemetery in Miamisburg. There will be a gathering for friends and family at Washington Township Fire Headquarters, 8320 McEwen Rd.
