He was born June 24, 1918 in Sedalia, the son of Patrick and Clara Gardner Jones. On Feb. 17, 1940, he married Wanda Williamson in Bowling Green, Mo. She survives of the home. Mr. Jones had lived in Fulton since the age of 10 and attended the Missouri School for the Deaf, where he was an outstanding football player. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Fulton.
Survivors also include a daughter, Sharon Anson of Springfield; a son, Robert E. 'Bob' Jones of Chillicothe; a sister, Mrs. Joe R. Bankhead of Kennett, Mo.; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Jones.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 4, 1994, at the Debo Funeral Home in Fulton. The Rev. Stephen Sowder will officiate. Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery." The Chillicothe Constitution-Tribune, June 3, 1994
