Page 384: "...First school was taught at Crystal Lake by Miss Hannah Beardsley, in 1838..."On the 10th day of March, 1839, the first marriage was solemnized in the township by Beman Crandall, a Justice of the Peace. Franklin Wallace and Miss Hannah S. Beardsley being the parties married. "She is now Mrs. Columbus Wallace, and resides in Nunda Township."
