Rev. Herman W. Mueller of Middletown, husband of Dicie Pauline (Hansen) Mueller died on Saturday (December 29, 2018) at Middlesex Memorial Hospital. Pastor Mueller was born May 7, 1921 in Schenectady, NY and was a son of the late Herman William, Sr. and Amanda (Voss) Mueller. He attended Concordia Prep School and Concordia University in Bronxville, NY, and was a 1946 graduate of Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, MO. He was ordained in Sweet Home, Oregon in 1946 and was active in ministry with the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod for over 40 years, serving congregations in Monroe, Mt. Vernon, Oak Harbor, and Anacortes, WA; Mountain Home, ID, Pomona and Ventura, CA; Cottonwood, AZ, and Anza and Fallbrook, CA. He will be remembered as a caring Pastor, a caring Chaplain at Mountain Home AFB, Idaho, a number cruncher, and a historian. In addition to his wife, Pastor Mueller is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law: Lorna and Gary Kee of Minneapolis, MN, and Dicie O. Mueller of Clinton; three grandchildren: Corrie (Balash) Kerr and her husband Bret, Stephen Balash and his wife Kristen, and A1C Vladimir William Herman Kee, USAF; four great grandchildren: Lily and Nate Kerr, Evelyn and Archie Balash; his in-laws: Ruth Leibach, Betty Hansen, Mary Lou and Dr. Paul Johnston, and the Rev. Dr. Maurice and Bonnie Hansen; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother and sister-in-law, Dr. Paul F. C. and Virginia Mueller; a sister and brother-in-law, Olive A. and Ralph Harrity; and in-laws: Vonnie and Lou Comyns, Gerald Hansen, and Marvin Leibach. Funeral Services will be held on Friday (January 4, 2019) at 11 AM at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 154 Meadow St., Bristol, CT, with the Rev. Dr. Mark Steiner officiating. Burial will follow in Peacedale Cemetery, Bristol. Relatives and friends may call at church on Friday from 10 AM until the start of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Lutheran Hour Ministries, 660 Mason Ridge Center, St. Louis, MO 63141. Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, is in care of arrangements.
