Revolutionary War veteran.
Served as a Private under Colonel J. Brooks, Captain Luke Day of the 7th Massachusetts Regiment.


Stiles was raised in Belchertown Ma, and was given permission by his father to serve in the revolutionary war. After the war, much of the extended Elijah family moved to the Decatur/Worcester area (Otsego county) NY, where several of them are listed as founding a "Union" (non-denominational) church. He is listed as a "Fence Viewer" in 1796 in Pittstown/Richmond/Honeoye (Ontario county) NY, around 1815 the lot of them moved to Campbell County KY for a couple of decades. Stiles broke off from the extended family at some point in there and moved to Galena Ohio, probably about the time of his father's death.
