Faint, Kathy A. (Edwards)

Age 58. Born December 27, 1948. Went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at her residence with her daughter by her side on Tuesday, May 22, 2007, due to a life long battle, with Sickle Cell Anemia. A graduate of Joliet Township High School Class of 1967, employed by the Joliet Correctional Center as a Correctional Officer, and Americana Nursing Home, as a Nurse's Assistant. Retiring from both employments due to her illness, Kathy was a much admired women who lived her life to the fullest; she believed with all her heart that no one should be left behind. Her heart and doors were always open to anyone who needed help regardless of the situation, she was a perfect role model for raising children. Kathy came in contact with almost and I mean almost every Child on the South-East Side and South Side of Joliet, not only to say that she assisted in raising every one of her nieces and nephews, Kathy confessed Christ at an early age. She united and was Baptized at the Second Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by one son, (infancy); her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Edwards Jr.; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Duncan Sr., and Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Edwards Sr.

She leaves in the loving care of God who does everything well, her devoted and care giving daughter, Leona Phinis Faint; four step children, Jasmine J. Morrow, Jamaica L. Morrow, Andrew A. Morrow and Martez D. Morrow, all of Joliet; two sisters, Sidneyetta Bew and Coleen Bailey; three brothers, Sidney (Lisa) Edwards III, William H. Edwards and Macio A. Edwards Sr., all of Joliet; seven aunts, Lucille (Percy) Martin, Edie (Harrison) Bacon, Mildred Frazier, Rosie (Sebert) Temple, Erma (Robert) Ross, Ko Syl Carr, and Margaret Henderson; three uncles, Eddie Duncan Jr., James Duncan and Robert Duncan, all of Joliet; four dearest friends, Mr. John McClelland, Ms. Shirley A. Lyons, Ms. Pearlean Spights; and life long friends and also care givers, Mr. and Mrs. Weems McCullum, and various friends, and family.

Those of us who knew Kathy knew her as a pleasant and cheerful person her gift of love will be deeply missed.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 29, 2007 from 2-5 PM at the funeral Home and 6-8 PM at Second Baptist Church, 156 S. Joliet St., Joliet, IL. Service at 8 PM, Pastor Larry V. Tyler, officiating. Interment Wednesday, May 30, 2007 at 10 AM at Abraham Lincoln Nation Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
