Patricia “Ann” Wirt Beabout, 89, of Speedway, IN, formerly of Oblong, IL, passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2018. She was born on September 19, 1929 in Oblong, IL to Elliot J. and Bess (McCammon) Wirt.
Ann graduated from Oblong Township High School. She worked at Marathon Oil Company for many years, and also in the credential office at IMS. Ann volunteered at Channel 20 WFYI for several years and was a member at Speedway Christian Church. She was also an avid golfer, bowler, bridge player, enjoyed cooking anything and everything, played the organ, and up until the last few years she enjoyed her season Colts tickets.
Ann married Harry “Hal” Beabout, Jr. on June 11, 1950. Hal preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents; brother, William “Bill” Evelyn Wirt; and sister, Laveta J. Wirt Thinnes. She is survived by her daughter, Holly Beabout (Craig) Ramsey, multiple brother-in-laws, sister in-laws, nieces, nephews, as well as great and great-great nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Flanner Buchanan-Speedway, 2950 N. High School Rd., from 2-4PM.
