Son of John B. ROGERS and Fannie Elzora MATTHEWS who are also buried here across the road from him. Buried next to his parents is his nephew Lawrence Russell LAYSER son of his sister Thelma Elzora ROGERS. He was married twice and had a daughter Charleen with first wife.

Rogers , J.W., 62, of Ft. Lauderdale, died Monday, February 26, 2007. He was born in Griffithville, AR to John & Fannie Rogers, but lived most of his life in South Florida. JW graduated from Ft. Lauderdale High School. Those who met him for the first time know they had a friend for life. Loving husband, father, brother and adoring grandfather, he is survived by his wife, Terry; son, Brian; daughters, Ginger, Charleen, Crissy (David) and Karen; sisters, Lillian & Thelma and grandchildren, Lauren, Megan, Paige & Emily. Friends may call Fri. 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 PM at Kalis-McIntee Funeral & Cremation Center, 2505 N. Dixie Hwy, Wilton Manors. Funeral service; 10 AM Sat. March 3rd at the funeral home with interment to follow in Lauderdale Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in JW's name to St. Jude Children's Hospital 501 St. Jude Pl. Memphis, TN. 38105.
