The widow of James Harvey Garrett.

Mrs. Elma G. Garrett of 2601 Brookhaven Dr., Sanford, NC died Thursday, Dec. 27, 2018 at Liberty Commons of Benson, NC.

Mrs. Elma Gray Garrett was born on February 22, 1927 in Chatham County, North Carolina and departed this life on Thursday, December 27, 2018 in Johnston County, NC.

She was the daughter of the late Robert Creacy & Alzora Bass Creacy.

Elma was a faithful and dedicated member of Tempting Congregation Church; where she was very active in many organizations.

Above all the things she enjoyed, her relationship with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was first and best of all! Elma enjoyed watching her stories, cooking, sharing love with her family, which included her church family.

Her career passions were parts assembler at Eaton Corporation and serving as a CNA, ensuring loving care was given to all that were put within her arms reach.

Elma is preceded in death by her son James W. Creacy, brother Robert Creacy and sisters Roberta Ray and Shirley Bramlet.

She leaves to cherish her memories her children Belinda McDougald (Anthony) of Sanford, NC; Michael Garrett (Beverly) of Smithfield, NC; sister Eva Brown (Guy); grandsons Jonathan Garrett (Zynythia) and Derrick Thorpe, granddaughters Yvette Wrenn, Michelle Jacobs and Shanika Creacy, great-grands, great-great-grands, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Service will be conducted Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2019 at 2:00pm at Tempting Congregational Church, Rev. Barry Palmer, pastor.

Bostic-Kendrick Funeral Home 1300 Pennsylvania Ave., Southern Pines, N.C. is assisting the family.
