Ralph was my mother's best friend and like an uncle to me. I can't remember a time growing up that he wasn't around eating birthday cake with us, taking us for rides on back roads, swimming in the Yough. He broke me of biting as a child when I stood up behind him as he was driving and bit him when I didn't get my way about something. I was about two or three. He stopped the car and bit me back! I never bit another soul! He taught my mom to drive, helped her with us kids when she was in need of a friend and was always there to prop her up when she needed a friend. I loved going to auctions with him. Although he never married and had children of his own, he loved us like his own. He worked for the state road department and one summer day in 1991, he was killed in a freak accident while trying to start his road grader. He will be forever missed in our hearts....

Ralph was the son of Daniel Roy Artice (1885-1964) and Elizabeth Irene Harris Artice (1897-1988) who predeceased him. He was survived by his brothers Bill Artice, George Richard Artice and Daniel Milton Artice; and by his sisters Eleanore Parnell, Ida Friday and Elizabeth Irene Gauntz. Ralph was also predeceased in death by brothers Floyd Francis Artice, Franklin D. Artice, and Roy Artice and by sister Evelyn Wayne.

Ralph's paternal grandparents were Adril Artice (1853-1917)and Julia Ann Hemming Artice (1860-1918).
His maternal grandparents were Alexander Harris (1870-1920) and Ida May Mellander Harris (1875-1926).
