FUNERAL OF MISS RANSDELL HELD, LAKE PROVIDENCE
Daughter of Sixth District Judge Dies Suddenly
A number of people from Shreveport, Monroe and other north Louisiana points went to Lake Providence yesterday to attend the funeral of Miss Frances Ransdell, daughter of Judge F. X. Ransdell, of the sixth judicial district court.
The young woman was 16 years of age and had been afflicted since childhood with blindness. Despite this handicap, she had made excellent progress with her education and was popular with a wide circle of friends. Her illness was sudden and death occurred while her father was holding court in Shreveport Monday afternoon. Court was at once adjourned and the judge hastened to his home.
The young woman was his youngest daughter. Four other daughters of the judge survive. Judge Ransdell is a brother of United States Senator Joseph E. Ransdell.
