Nilene Sims Wester, age 77, of Russellville, went home to be with Jesus and family on Tuesday, December 25, 2018.

She was born July 28, 1941, in East Point Community to James Alfred and Sylvia Irene Jolley Rachel.

Nilene was a student at Fairview School and a 1959 Russellville High School graduate. She worked for the International Shoe Factory 15 years, J.C. Penney for 13 years, and for the Pope County Election Commission.

She loved to volunteer and was the East Point Baptist Church secretary and clerk, on the cemetery board, Arkansas River Valley Baptist Association Clerk and Pope County Fair Board and a volunteer and on the board of the Pope County Wellness and Activity Senior Center.

She loved playing board games and traveling.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Sims and her sister, Rita Rachel.

Survivors include her husband, William “Bill” Wester; her sister and brother-in-law, Zell and Johnnie Lewis; her nephew and his spouse, Gary and Tanya Lewis; a niece and her spouse, Ruth and Ron Ellington; great-niece and nephew, Anna and John Ellington; and a step-daughter, Tracey Wester.

The funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 28, 2018, at East Point Baptist Church with Rev. Richard Pickup, Doug Lowe and the Rev. Don Mulford officiating.

Burial will be in East Point Cemetery in Russellville and under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5:00-6:00 p.m., at the funeral home.

Honorary pallbearers will be Frank Meimerstorf, Tommy Cooper, Dennis Sims, Johnny Snoddy, Ed White, Gerry Whorton, Robert Bocksnick, Justin White, Don Hale and Justin Lowe.
