Graveside services for S.R. Abercrombie, age 91, of Chandler are scheduled for 10:00 am Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Tyler Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Bill Ballou and Pastor James Youngman officiating. S.R. died on Sunday, December 23, 2018 peacefully in Chandler, Texas. He was born October 1, 1927 in Emory, Texas to the late Charlie and Ollie (Deaton) Abercrombie. S. R. grew up in Emory before being drafted into the Korean Conflict. He returned from war as a Sergeant in the Army. Upon return to Emory he met Arthella Blanton and they were married on July 30, 1954. He owned his own dirt business for a number of years before going to work for Kelly Springfield where he later retired. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Ollie (Deaton) Abercrombie. His Infant Sister Baby Abercrombie, Brothers, Dale Abercrombie and J.C. Abercrombie, Granddaughter, Amber Abercrombie, Great grandson Charlie Jack England and Great granddaughter Emory Faith England. S.R. is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 64 years Arthella Abercrombie of Chandler, Texas; Daughter and Son-In-Law, Lynn and Lynn Allison of Pampa, Texas; Son and Daughter-In-Law Ray and Brenda Abercrombie of Ben Wheeler, Texas; Daughter and Son-In Law Lesa and Tim England, Chandler, Texas; and Son and Daughter in Law, Larry and Sharon Abercrombie of Lindale, Texas. Grandchildren, Mindi Abercrombie of Tyler, Texas; Shelbie and Trey Glover of Tyler, Texas; Chad and Ashley England of Houston, Texas; Brian and Menissa Abercrombie of Flint, Texas; Cortnie and Mark Patterson of Pampa, Texas; Shana and Cory Caldwell of Lindale, Texas; Andrea Abercrombie of Lindale, Texas; and Krisi and Andy Buckholtz of Tyler; and 18 great grandchildren. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be grandsons, Chad England, Trey Glover, Brian Abercrombie, Mark Patterson, Cory Caldwell, and Andy Buckholtz.
