OBITUARY: Manhattan Mercury, Wednesday May 23, 1906.
MRS. DAVID B. ALLMAN DEAD
Passed Away Last Evening After Prolonged Illness.
The death of Mrs. David B. Allman, which occurred about 7:30 o'clock last evening at her home near the college, came as a great shock to the people of Manhattan. Eleven weeks ago Mrs. Allman fell and sprained her hip and since that time had been in very poor health, though heart failure was the immediate cause of her death. For the past three weeks, however, she had been feeling much better and ate a hearty supper last evening, so her death was very sudden and unexpected. Mrs. Mary Allman was born Jan 14, 1843 in Stark county, Ohio. In March, 1871, she was united in marriage to David B. Allman. They came to Manhattan 26 years ago and have always been highly esteemed in this community. The deceased leaves six children besides her husband: Mrs. Chas. Tull, Mrs. Maude Barrett, Howard, Will and Lee, all of Manhattan, and Miss Edith Allman of Kansas City.
The funeral services will be conducted tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock at the home by Rev. Atkinson.
