QMC Reid Gardner Cayce, USN (Ret.) 95, of Summerville, Widower of Marian Virginia Cayce died Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Veterans Victory House.

Family and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 from 5 o’clock to 7 o’clock at James A. Dyal Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at 10 o’clock at James A. Dyal Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Dorchester Memory Gardens, 11000 Dorchester Rd., Summerville, SC 29485.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Old Fort Baptist Church, 10505 Dorchester Rd, Summerville, SC 29485.

Mr. Cayce was born on August 24, 1923 in Spartanburg, SC, son of the late Robert B. Cayce and Annie Gardener Cayce. He was a graduate of Georgetown Baptist College in Georgetown, Kentucky. He was a World War II Veteran of the United States Navy. He participated in the landings at Gela, Sicily, Salerno, Italy and at Normandy for the invasion of Europe. Also served in the Pacific at Leyte Gulf and Okinawa. After serving in the military, he worked with Sears, Roebuck and Company retiring as a Division Manager of Children’s Clothing Departments. He was a member of Old Fort Baptist Church.

Survivors include: three daughters: Donna C. Phillips (Marion) of North Charleston, Carrie R. Cayce of North Charleston and Marian R. Hill of Eutawville; seven grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. He was predeceased by two brothers: William R. Cayce and Robert B. Cayce; three sisters: Ruth C. Denton, Elizabeth C. Charbonneau and Nell C. Kaufman.
