Dorothy L. Rosanbalm, 94, of Pleasant Hill, departed this life Friday, December 21, 2018, at the KU Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 28, 2018, at the Community of Christ Church, Pleasant Hill. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be held 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 27, 2018, at the Stanley-Dickey Funeral Home, Pleasant Hill, Missouri.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Pleasant Hill Community of Christ Church and may be sent in care of the funeral home.

Dorothy Louise Rosanbalm, 94, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, was born, September 29, 1924, in Logan, Iowa, the daughter of Joshua Walter and Vernie Elizabeth (Killpack) Carlile. She departed this life peacefully, Friday, December 21, 2018, at the Kansas University Medical Center, Kansas City, Kansas.

Dorothy was a 1942 Blue Springs High School graduate. Dorothy worked for the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant during WWII.

On April 21, 1946, she was united in marriage to John L. Rosanbalm in Pleasant Hill. They were happily married for 62 years and lived on a farm outside of Pleasant Hill for almost all their married life. He preceded her in death on September 2, 2008.

Dorothy was a homemaker. She had also been employed as a Tax Examiner for the Internal Revenue Service in the early 1980's. She was an active member of the Pleasant Hill Community of Christ Church where she had served as an Elder since 1991, the Church Women's Leader and with the Skylarks and Orioles. She was also very active in her children's lives. She had also served as President of the PTA in both Pleasant Hill and Cass County , the Ore Club, the Senior Citizens Club, Meals on Wheels, and was an active member of the Pleasant Hill Lions Club. She was an active member of the Excelsior Homemakers Club for 25 years. She enjoyed gardening and canning.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; one brother Virgil Carlile Sr.; and three sisters, Violet Stowell, Mildred Talcott, and Jean Hoover; one granddaughter, Melissa Allen.

She is survived by 6 children Janice Louise (and Keith) Tuttle of Pleasant Hill, Lawrence Eugene (and Pamela) Rosanbalm of Pleasant Hill, Elizabeth Maureen Rosanbalm of Pleasant Hill, Jo Anne Ilene (and Steven) Stroot of New Baden, Illinois, Nancy Wanjean (and Mark) Allen of Pleasant Hill, and Carl Lyle (and Jill) Rosanbalm of Pleasant Hill; 11 grandchildren Glenda Repp, Mark (and Danna) Palmer, Lisa (and Michael) Layton, Shane (and Katie) Rosanbalm, Corey (and Sarut) Rosanbalm, Matthew Rosanbalm, Jesse Stroot, Stephanie (and Michael) Weight, Jeffrey (and Kelly) Stroot, Michelle (and Dan)Ream, and John (and Jodi) Rosanbalm; 19 great-grandchildren Tyler Repp, Savanna(and Nico) Pike, Daniel Palmer, Layla Palmer, Makenzie Layton, Gracie Layton, Emily Layton, Miley Layton, Michael Layton, Brinley Layton, Landon Rosanbalm, Norah Rosanbalm, Madison Dial, Kashton Rosanbalm, Kalliyan Rosanbalm, Kendrys Rosanbalm, Owen Rosanbalm, Jeni Rosanbalm, Parker Rosanbalm, Michael Weight, Adilene Weight, Violet Weight, and Stanley Stroot; Kingston Ream, Ariann Ream and one great-great grandchild; Kinsley Pike; two brothers, Don Carlile and Marion "Shorty" (and Yvonne) Carlile, both of Pleasant Hill; one sister, June Tygart of Kansas City; other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services were held Friday, December 28, 2018, at the Pleasant Hill Community of Christ church. High Priest Claude Rains officiate. Burial is in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Casket bearers are Shane Rosanbalm, Corey Rosanbalm, Matthew Rosanbalm, John Rosanbalm, Mark Palmer, Jeffrey Stroot, and Jesse Stroot. Honorary Casket bearers are Marion "Shorty" Carlile and Don Carlile.

Visitation was held Thursday, December 27, 2018, at the Stanley-Dickey Funeral Home where the Pleasant Hill Lions Club will hold a Rose Ceremony at 8:00 P.M.
