He was born in Perry, New York on July 31, 1934 a son of the late Louis H. and Rachel (Falls-Williams) Yunker.
He was a graduate of Perry Central School class of 1952.
David retired from Retsof Salt mine after 30 years of employment, he also helped his father with the family farm in Leicester.
He was a member of Leicester Presbyterian Church in Leicester the York-Leicester Senior Citizens Club where he was senior citizen of the year in 2012, a former member of the 4-H and was a former Boy Scout Leader. He enjoyed vegetable gardening, playing cards, golfing, going to the casino, spending time with his family and was known to make the best scalloped potatoes.
He is survived by his wife, Antoinette (Wawrzycki) Yunker, whom he married on January 8, 1955; a daughter, Deanna (Mike Miller) O’ Geen of LeRoy; a son, David Yunker of Churchville; brothers, Robert (Loralyn) Yunker of Perry and Donald (Joanne) Yunker of Arizonia; 3 grandchildren, Andrew Yunker, Jeremy Yunker and Stephanie (Troy VanBuren) O’Geen; along with many nieces, and nephews.
Along with his parents he is preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Winter.
Family and friends may call from 10am-2pm on Wednesday, December 26th, at the Eaton-Watson Funeral Home, LLC. 98 N. Main Street in Perry, where services will follow at 2pm.
He will be laid to rest in Leicester Cemetery in Leicester.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cuylerville Ambulance and Fire Departments or to the LeRoy Village Green.
