Mr. John F. Bailey, 85, of West Main Street, Bowersville, passed away Saturday, December 22, 2018 in Greenville SC.
Born on July 28, 1933 in Bowersville GA, he was the son of the late Buford and Dallas Floyd Bailey. Mr. Bailey was a farmer and former Mayor of Bowersville for 42 years.
Survivors include his daughter: Melissa B. Holloway (David) of Bowersville; his son: Kevin Bailey (Kimberly) of Greenville SC; six grandchildren: Justin Bailey, Christopher Bailey, Colt Holloway, Hunter Holloway, Karter Kappenberg, Kannon Kappenberg; two great-grandchildren: Eason Bailey and Cooper Bailey also survive.
Mr. Bailey was preceded in death by his parents; his wife: Mary Lynn Dean Bailey, two brothers: Bob Bailey and Stanley Bailey and a sister: Sara Hunt.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Connie Ivester officiating. Burial will be in the Bowersville City Cemetery.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening.
