Death of Mrs. Elizabeth Bell

Died at her home, near Clem, in this county on the morning of the 24th of January 1897, Mrs. Elizabeth Caldwell Bell, consort of the late James Bell.

She was born on August 14, 1820, and was married to Jas. Bell, September 5th, 1844. About sixteen years ago, this couple moved to Carroll county, and ever since have made it their home. This union was blessed with eleven children, of whom five sons and two daughters are still living, and all of them, with on exception, are residents of out county.

For sixty years or more, sister Bell has been a faithful member of the Presbyterian church, and the hope of the christian was hers. During the calm and holy quite of the Sabbath, her spirit took its flight to be reunited, as
she expressed it before her death, with that of her husband, who departed this life, just four months and eleven days ago.

Bro. Jas Bell and wife won, by their upright conduct, the esteem and respect,of all who knew them. Sister Bell was a devoted wife and faithful mother, and up to the last urged her children to lead righteous lives.

" Servent of God, well done, rest from thy Loved employ:
Sufferings over, the crown is won, Enter the Master's joy." let me die the death of the righteous, let my last end be like his."
