Doyle “Jerry” Harrington Jr., age 78 of Salida, passed away on Monday December 17, 2018 surrounded by family in Colorado Springs. Mr. Harrington was born July 21, 1940 in Leadville, CO to Doyle and Regina (McGuire) Harrington.
Mr. Harrington moved to Salida in 1958. After graduating from Salida High School in 1959, he started helping his father run Rocky Mountain Amusement. He served his country in the National Guard. He married Marilyn McKelvie in 1966 and they had 3 children together. In 1983, he married PJ Steele and they spent the last 35 years running Hot-Shots and Rocky Mountain Amusement and traveling together. Mr. Harrington was an avid bowler, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, skiing, golfing, spending time with his dogs, camping and being with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son Mike Harrington and sister Linda Stone. He is survived by his wife PJ Harrington of Salida, CO, son Scott (Mandy Struna) of Salida, CO, daughter Gwen (Jeff) Militello of Fairmont, MN, granddaughters Madison and Macy, aunt Dorothy (Bill) Hibschle of Kansas City, MO and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services are set for 10:30 AM Saturday December 22, 2018 at Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home. Interment of cremains will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
