Katie Huber of Farmers Branch, Texas passed away December 16, 2018. She was born July 7, 1930 in Bonita, Texas to William H. Admire and Mary E. (Roach) Admire. She was the youngest of seven children.

Katie graduated in 1950 from The Parkland Hospital School of Nursing and began a lifelong career in nursing and health care at Parkland Memorial Hospital. She began her career as Emergency Room RN, then progressed to head nurse, supervisor of nursing and head of nursing administration during her time with Parkland. She met the love of her life, Robert E. Huber, a Dallas Police Officer while working in the Emergency Room in 1950. Katie retired from Parkland Hospital in 1997 after 47 years of service to her fellow men.

She was a life-long member of the Church of Christ and a long-time member of Walnut Hill Church of Christ. After her retirement, she participated in many medical mission trips to Southeast Asia, Eastern Europe and other regions of the world. She constantly volunteered at many local programs in Dallas when not overseas helping the needy and hungry.

Preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert E. Huber, four sisters and two brothers.

A funeral service will be held December 20, 2018 at Walnut Hill Church of Christ in Dallas, TX.

Interment: Mountain Park Cemetery in Saint Jo, Texas.
