Hank served in the United States Army during World War II from 1941 until 1945. He worked at Walker Manufacturing, American Motors, and A.C. Delco, before retiring from Chrysler. He was a member of Racine Bible Church, Friends of Seniors, and a volunteer for Meals on Wheels for more than ten years. Hank loved the outdoors, especially being in his backyard tending to his garden and flowers. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife, June, throughout the United States, including Alaska and Hawaii.
Hank died on Jan. 20, 2007, at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare - All Saints in Racine, Wisconsin. His funeral was held on Jan. 25, 2007 at Racine Bible Church.
He was survived by his wife of 60 years, June (Gauslin) Daft; two sons and daughters-in-law; one daughter and son-in-law; three grandchildren; and two sisters, Martha (Daft) Primuth and Helen Daft. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Catherine Daft; brother, Frederick Daft; sister, Mary Daft; half-brother, Rudolf Fetter; half-sister, Emma Grams; sister-in-law, Elizabeth (Barlow) Daft; and brother-in-law, Adolph Primuth.
