Eileen was born January 7, 1925 in Battletown, KY to the late Oris and Iva Pipes Bennett.
Her husband, William Louis “Bill” Kellems, Jr.; son, Larry Kellems; grandson, James Matthews; sisters, Dorothy McBride, Laverne Kellems, Velma Stewart and Marcella Allen and brother, Robert Bennett preceded her in death.
Eileen was born and raised on a farm in Battletown, KY and continued farming with her husband Bill until they moved to Harned, KY. She worked beside her husband in several businesses in Breckinridge, Meade and Hardin Counties. She was a member of Hwy. 60 Church of Christ and loved to read her Bible and cherished memories of taking the neighborhood children to Vacation Bible School and teaching Sunday School at New Highland Baptist Church. She loved and cared for her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, Margaret A. Matthews of Irvington, KY and her son, Craig (Diana) Kellems of Elizabethtown; sister, Mary (Walter) Hack; brother, James E. Bennett; grandchildren, Jeremy Kellems, Josh Kellems and Sarah Matthews; great grandchildren, Kenzleigh Phillips and Zoey Matthews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 21, 2018 at 11 A.M. EST from the Chapel of Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home with burial to follow in New Highland Cemetery.
