Patty L. Hermon of McComb, Ohio passed away on her 87th birthday on Friday, December 14, 2018.
Patty was born in Liberty Township near Findlay to the late Cloyce and Dorothy (Cramer) Altman. She married Melvin Hermon in April of 1949 and he preceded her in death in 2004. Patty is survived by her children: Catherine (Ron) Hornbeck of Toledo and Robert (Patty) Hermon of Columbus Grove; grandchildren: Cassie (Monte) Maxwell, Carrie (Tim) Fox, Brian (Emilee) Hermon and twin grandsons: Troy (Nicole) and Travis (Deirdre) Hermon; great-grandchildren: twins Emma and James, Adeline, Jax, Claire, Briggs, Liliana, Easton, Sam, twins Ariana and Beckett, Lenora, Kenlee and Mackenzie; siblings: Janice (John) Smith and Shirley Franks and many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank niece Madeline Leaf and family for their care of Mom. She was preceded in death by her children: Ronald and Barbara and siblings: Max, Mary Louise, Richard, Elwanda, Martha and Arlene.
Patty was a homemaker and bookkeeper for Hermon's Appliance Service in McComb. She was a member of the McComb Church of Christ and enjoyed knitting, crocheting and attending auctions and garage sales. She was a great cook and was known for her pies, especially her butterscotch, peach, and lemon meringue. Patty enjoyed having everyone over for Pre Harvest Festival in McComb each year. Family was the most important part of Patty's life. She taught her grandchildren how to play Rummy-o and her love for cooking. Grandma would make rice crispy treats and would laugh as they disappeared within minutes. And, if they would need anything, they were told "go ask Grandma, she probably has three of them". Her legacy of love will live on in her family.
Visitation for Patty will be on Saturday December 22, 2018 from 10 AM until the time of her celebration of Life Service at Noon in the HARTLEY-HANNEMAN FUNERAL HOME, 370 Park Dr, S., McComb, Ohio 45858. Interment will follow in the McComb Union Cemetery.
