Ruby A. Anderson, age 84 of Yorkville, IL passed away on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at the Grove of Fox Valley in Aurora, IL. She was born on October 16, 1934 in Champaign County, IL the daughter of Joseph Edward and Mertie Edna (Goodall) Greene.
Ruby was united in marriage on May 17, 1958 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Yorkville, IL to Mr. Leo Eugene Anderson and they spent the next 46 happy years together until his passing on February 21, 2005. Mrs. Anderson was a longtime member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Yorkville, IL. Ruby was a 1957 graduate of the Copley School of Nursing. She was formerly employed as a Nurse at Tillers Nursing Home in Oswego, IL and later served as the Assistant Director of Nursing at the Hillside Healthcare and Rehab in Yorkville, IL. Ruby enjoyed spending time in her garden tending to her beautiful flowers. She was a loving wife, mother, sister and aunt who will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Ruby is survived by her sons, Phillip Anderson of Chicago, IL and Scott Anderson of Yorkville, IL; also several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mertie Greene; her husband, Leo Anderson; her siblings, Carl, Charles and Louis Greene and Alice Merkel. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at the Nelson Funeral Home, 1617 North Bridge Street, Yorkville, IL with Pastor Michael Neel, officiating. Interment will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery in Yorkville, IL.
