George W. Parrish, retired West Frankfort barber, died at 7:55 a. m. Monday at the Yoggerst Nursing Home in Herrin. He had been in ill health 13 years.
He operated a barber shop in West Frankfurt for 35 years. He was a past master of the Masonic Lodge in West Frankfort and member of the Christian Church at Gainsboro, Tenn.
He leaves daughters, Mrs. Eula (Homer) Page, Carbondale; Mrs. Beulah Cristoff, Madison; and Mrs. Martha Church, Los Angeles, Calif.; a son, Clinton of Miami, Fla., a brother, Bedford Parrish in Kentucky, 11 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held in the Stone Funeral Home of West Frankfort . The Rev. B. I. Church of Carbondale will officiate and burial will be in Denning Cemetery. Masonic rites will be conducted at graveside.
