Roy Eugene Saettel, 83, of Elizabethtown, died Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Norton Hosparus Inpatient Care in Louisville. He was a native of Louisville, served in the Army National Reserve, and was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He retired from Louisville Airport Authority as a plumber and HVAC technician. He was a member of Valley 511 Masonic Lodge and Local 107 Union of Plumbers and taught HVAC school. . He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathryn Saettel; two brothers, Jim Saettel and Frank Saettel; a sister, Irene Jeanette Saettel; and parents, Lewis and Mary Decker Saettel. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ann Garrett Saettel; three sons, Roy Saettel, Jr. (Hope) of Bumpass, VA, Mike Saettel (Chandra) of Charlestown, IN, and Lester Saettel (Tonia) of McDaniels, KY; a brother, John Saettel; two sisters, Deloris Werner and Dorothy Burke; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and his favorite buddy, Henry. The funeral is at 12 p.m. Saturday at Brown Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Saettel officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Baptist Cemetery.
