Betty Renee (Margetts) Penman, 83, our loving mother, grandma, great-grandma, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away in Bountiful, Utah, on Sunday, 9 December 2018, due to incidents associated with age and pneumonia.
Renee was born in Utah on Thursday, 6 June 1935, to Lawrence R. and Nora (Davis) Margetts. She, along with her beautiful sisters, Jean and Gayle, was raised in Salt Lake City, Utah where Renee attended West High and L.D.S. Business College.
On Friday, 12 June 1953, Renee married W. Eugene "Gene" Penman. They made their home in Bountiful where they raised three children, Steven, Sandra and Don Scot. It was the happiest time of Renee's life.
Renee was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved her neighbors and friends. She worked as a cashier at South Davis Junior High for thirty-six years in the Davis School District. Renee loved lunching with her granddaughters and vacationing in Yellowstone and Jackson Hole.
Renee was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gene; sons, Don and Steven; and daughter-in-law, Susan.
Left to cherish her memory are Renee's daughter, Sandy (Rick) Wood, six beautiful grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren; along with Renee's sisters, Jean Sipple Holland and Gayle Patrick.
Friends may visit with the family from 6:30 to 8:00 P.M., on Thursday, 13 December 2018, at Russon Brothers' Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main Street and from 9:45 to 10:45 A.M., on Friday, 14 December, where a small funeral service for family and friends will follow at 11 A.M.. Renee will be laid to rest next to her husband and son, Don Scot, in the Bountiful Memorial Park Cemetery.
