Thomas was born either on the 10th or the 20th (the dates have been copied over and over and there has been a transcription error) in Franklin Co, IN to William Blackburn and Susan Bolton. He moved to Holt Co, MO in 1870 and it appears that he convinced his parents and siblings to follow him there. Around June of 1903, he followed a brother to Gardena, Los Angeles Co, CA, where he died 6 months later of heart disease at the age of 55. He is interred in an unmarked grave. The ashes of his brother, Perry, are also interred in the same grave.
