Mrs. Mary Frances Ivey Miller, age 93, formerly of Miamola Lane, Sandersville, died Sunday, December 9, 2018 following an extended illness.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 14th at 11:00 a.m. at Sandersville United Methodist Church with burial in Washington County Memorial Gardens. Reverend Stan Littleton and Stacer Helton will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday prior to the funeral service from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. in SUMC Heritage Hall. Pallbearers will be Bob Wilson, Lee Avant, Jon Moore, Russell Riner, Jimmy Brown, Allen Smith, Randy Mayberry, Eric Holmes, John Brooker Sr., Cliff Sheppard, Bob West, Ben Layton, Gary Tanner, Frank May, Leroy Andrews and Shea Helton.

Mrs. Miller was a native of Washington County and the daughter of the late W. C. Ivey and the late Beulah Camp Ivey; she was also predeceased by her sister, Pauline Ivey and her brother, J. B. Ivey, USN.

She was a graduate of both Sandersville High School and Bessie Tift College. Following college, Mrs. Miller worked for Judge Augustus M. Roan in Atlanta before returning home to Sandersville. Her life was active in the Sandersville community where she was a homemaker, bookkeeper for her father’s business, Ivey Plumbing and also occasionally working in the family business, Miller’s Food Store. She was a longtime member of Sandersville United Methodist Church where she formerly participated in the United Methodist Women’s groups and sang in the choir. Mrs. Miller possessed a lifetime love of music, playing her piano until just a few months prior to her death. She was a member of the Sandersville Music Club and she was an avid bridge player.

Her husband, Cleave Bivins Miller Jr. and her son, John Ivey Miller, both predeceased Mrs. Miller.

Survivors include her sons, William Cleave “Bill” Miller of Orlando FL., and Maurice Roan Miller and his wife Lynn of Sandersville; grandchildren, Ivey M. Benson and her husband Allen of Forsyth, Magan M. Bell and her husband Kerry of Bogart, Bivins Miller and his wife Danielle of Richmond Hill, Harley Miller and his wife Mallory of Forsyth, Maggie Lynn Miller, Mary Frances Miller and Matthew Roan “Matt” Miller all of Sandersville; 11 great grandchildren; and her faithful caregivers, Barbara Brown, Christine Johnson, Alisa Hall, and Joe Ellen Walker.
