John A. DeBross May 29, 1944-December 7, 2018 John A. DeBross, age 74, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away at home on Friday, December 7, 2018. Born May 29, 1944, in Philipsburg, PA, he was the son of the late Anthony and Matilda Zwiener DeBross. A 1962 graduate of Philipsburg High School, John went on to serve honorably in the U.S. Navy and graduate from technical school with his Associate's Degree. John worked in communications at Letterkenny Army Depot and CECOM United Defense. He enjoyed hunting, golf, bowling, watching John Wayne Westerns, Cowboy Movies, Steeler Football, helping others, and tinkering; John was well versed at taking a 20 minute job and turning it into an hour's worth of work. Surviving are two sons, Shawn P. DeBross (wife Billie Jo) of Chambersburg, PA and Timothy J. DeBross of Chambersburg, PA and two grandchildren, Shawn DeBross, Jr. and Lindsy DeBross, both of Chambersburg, PA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary R. DeBross in 2015. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 13, 2018, at 11 AM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA, where Deacon Richard Ramsey will celebrate. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 12, 2018, from 6-8 PM and one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Private interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Smethport, PA.
