Born to Edwin Bryant Adams (1817-1890) of South Carolina & Catherine Grigg Adams (1818-1878) of Georgia, who married in 1835.

Alice married Thomas Jefferson Meekins (1843–1901) on July 24, 1867, in Polk County, TX.

Six children:
• Edwin Adams Meekins (1869-1953)
• Mary Virginia "Jennie" Meekins (3/1872-after 1910; living with brother Earl in 1910)
• Ella Meekins (1875-1905; unmarried)
• Thomas Jefferson Meekins, Jr. (1877-1957)
• Robert Earl Meekins (1878-1952)
• William Kennedy "Willie" Meekins (1881-about 1923)

The 1900 census reports that six children were living at that time. Alice's obituary states there were four married sons and 2 single daughters.
