Obituary - Helen Hyde Ensign Culp, passed away Saturday, Dec. 30, 2000 at the age of 96 years.
She was born December 30, 1904 to Edith Lucile Hyde and Alfred Horace Ensign in Salt Lake City. Married Reed Chesley Culp Sr., April 18, 1928. He preceded her in death of May 8, 1991.
Helen participated in the Second World War Volunteer Services cooking and providing food at the D&RG Railroad station for our boys leaving to go to war. A member of the Ladies Literary Club for several years, an active member of the Cub Scouts of America as a volunteer. She loved the mountains, sports and good books she was an avid reader all of her life. Helen enjoyed traveling throughout the world with her husband. She was a member of the First Methodist Church.
Survived by two sons: Carl Arden Culp of Salt Lake City, and Sherman Alfred Culp of Summit Park; seven grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by son, Reed Chesley Culp Jr.; sister, Lucile Ensign; and brother, Frank Ensign.
Private graveside services will be held in Salt Lake City Cemetery.
