APRIL 19, 1926 ~ NOVEMBER 29, 2018 (AGE 92)

Harold J. McCormick, 92, died Thursday 11/29/18 at the Charlene Manor Extended Care Facility in Greenfield. He was born in Troy, NY on April 19, 1926, the son of John J. and Thelma (Weidlech) McCormick. He graduated from Turners Falls High School and attended a technical college in Northampton.
Harold served in the United States Army during World War II and the Battle of the Bulge. He was Third Army, 11th Infantry Regt., Fifth Division, obtaining the rank of Sergeant, E-7.
Harold held management and manufacturing positions at the Ingersoll-Rand, Millers Falls Tool Company, the Rule Tool Company and the Greenfield Tap & Die.
Harold enjoyed gardening, fishing and hunting. He was a member of the Turners Falls School Committee, a Massachusetts Commander for the VFW, and received an accommodation for Meal on Wheels. He was avid in volunteering and advocating for Veterans and for low income housing for those in need.
Among his survivors, Harold leaves: four sons, Brian McCormick of Ashby, MA, John McCormick of Turners Falls, James McCormick of Bernardston and William McCormick of Greenfield; three daughters, Mary Boulanger of Turners Falls, Joan Maney of Ipswich, and Noreen Danek; a brother, Donald McCormick of W.Boylston; a sister, Florence "Betty" Lennon of Dalton, MA; four grandchildren, Ashley, Stephanie, Daniel and Kate; as well as, several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass will be held Monday 12/10 at 10am at Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 84 K Street, Turners Falls. Burial will follow at Aaron Clarke Cemetery in Turners Falls.
There will be no calling hours.
