Mr. John (J.B.) Hicks, age 65, of Villa Rica, Georgia, passed away April 6, 2007 at his residence.
Mr. Hicks was born December 17, 1941 in Paulding County, Georgia, son of the late Oko and Ola Choran Hicks. He worked on the Assembly Line at GM. He was also a member of New Georgia Baptist Church and member of the Bartlett Lodge #139 F&AM.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Allene Hicks of Villa Rica; daughter, Charlene and Gary Bates of Villa Rica (New GA); son, Frankie and Ann Hicks of Villa Rica (New GA); seven grandchildren, Dana Howard, Tasha Hicks, Kristy Kicks, Heather Bolt, Ashley Ingham, Bailey Butler, and Courtney Butler; only great-grandson, A. J. Howard; three brothers, Herman and Jane Hicks, Denford and Charlotte Hicks and Mac and Barbara Hicks, all of Dallas; two sisters, Allene and M. C. Wilson of Paulding County and Georgie Harper of Bartow County.
In addition to his father, Mr. Oko Hicks, who passed away in 1977 and his mother, Ola Hicks, who passed away in 1996, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jack Hicks, who passed away in 1971.
Funeral Services were held on Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Charles Williams and Rev. Jerry Hollis officiating. Special music was rendered by Mrs. Becky Bearden.
Interment followed in Melrose Hills Memorial Park with Terry Hicks, Gary Hicks, Larry Hicks, Dwayne Hicks, Dwayne Pace, and Chris Pace serving as pallbearers.
