Harold DaVerne Marsh, age 83, of Channahon, IL, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, November 29, 2018. Born on February 4, 1935, in Baring, MO, the son of the late Harold and Blanche (nee Kigar) Marsh, he was the oldest of three children.

A proud veteran of the U.S. Army, Harold and his wife, Rosemary, moved from Missouri to Joliet, IL in 1958. He was a dedicated member of Stone Hill Bible Church, formerly Larkin Baptist Church, since 1959 and enjoyed a rewarding career with the E.J. and E Railroad, retiring in 1994.

Harold is survived by his wife of 60 years, Rosemary (nee Swearingen) Marsh; their six children, Rebecca Marsh, Okie (Perry) Picco, Justin (Lisa) Marsh, Brenda (Jeff) McPherson, Brian (Vickie) Marsh, and Samuel (Stephanie) Marsh; his sister, Janice Smith; his brother, Glennon Marsh; he was blessed with 13 grandchildren, Tim Picco, Allison (Jimmy) Samsel, Brittany and Tony Picco, Jessica (Fritz) Engel, Jared (Carly) and Bethany Marsh, David (Brittany) Tafoya, Wyatt McPherson, Kelton, Colt, McKaylynn and Samantha Marsh; and nine great grandchildren.

Visitation for Harold DaVerne Marsh will be held on Tuesday, December 4, 2018, from 9:00 a.m. until time of funeral services at 10:30 a.m., at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet.

Interment and full military honors conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army and the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery Memorial Squad will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) Three Rivers Chapter of IL (www.cef-will.org) or Stone Hill Bible Church, Joliet, IL, would be appreciated.
