In 1961 Roger married the love of his life, Elaine L. Ohlde. Over the next three years the couple welcomed three children into their lives. Roger's children remember him as a loving provider. He encouraged his children to work hard and to always do their best. Roger spent the majority of his work years as a grocery clerk at Safeway and ended his working career at Union Station. Roger had a passion for history and politics and in his retirement years volunteered at a local elementary school. He was also a dedicated member at King of Kings Lutheran Church.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Maurice and Lucile Gish, of Glen Elder, Kansas; brother, Kendall Gish, of Denver, Colorado; and a still born son.
Survivors include his wife, Elaine, of Kansas City; his children Deborah, Craig and Laurie (Dan) Medina all of Kansas City, Missouri. Roger is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, who he loved dearly.
All are welcome to attend and celebrate Roger's life. Services will be held Monday, December 3rd at King of Kings Lutheran Church. A light lunch will be served at 11:45am, prior to services. Visitation starting at 1pm with funeral at 2pm, followed by burial at White Chapel Cemetery.
