Mrs, Alberta Repp Dixon, 70, a descendent of one of the pioneer families of western Pennsylvania, died at 8 o'clock this morning at her home, 201 South Jefferson avenue, after a serious illness that had kept her confined to bed for the past six months, she had been in poor health for about six years.
Born in Parker's landing on April 9, 1870, she was the daughter of George W. and Sara Parker Reep. Her father was one of the early independent oil operators and both parents were members of pioneer families of Butler and Armstrong counties.
She was the widow of the late John E. Dixon and had lived in Canonsburg for 42 years, she was an active member of the Chartiers U. P. church so long as her health permitted. Mrs. Dixon was a past president of the Woman's club, serving from 1919 to 1921 at the time when the organization was known as the Shakespeare club.
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Lewis I. Thomas of South Jefferson avenue, Mrs. Frank Rittenhouse of Houston, and Mrs. Paul Meneely of Moninger; by a sister, Mrs. M. Estelle Dixon of Aspinwall; by two brothers, Charles Repp of Butler and Edwin Repp of Franklin, Ky.; and by three grandchildren.
The body will be removed to the late home this afternoon. Funeral services will be held there Thursday afternoon at 2:30 in charge of the Rev. Dr. J. Reade McCrory. Burial will be in the Oak Spring cemetery.
