Forrest was honored to do his part in serving his country and enlisted with the United States Army. He would enter into active duty at Frankfurt Germany, serving with the 284th Military police Company and would spend a total of 24 years in service before retiring from the military. Upon discharge he returned to the area and would continue in the line of Police Security, for 6 years, working in Stuttgart, Arkansas.
Upon retiring from civilian work, Forrest moved to live out his retirement in San Antonio, TX.
Forrest was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Charles Milton Edwards and James Gilford Edwards.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Schwab Edwards of San Antonio, TX., and sisters, Ellen Evonne Bundren (Tommy) of Clarendon, and Debra Ruth Edwards of Sherwood, AR.
Services will be Monday, December 3, 2018 at Bob Neal and Sons Funeral Home Chapel, with burial at Shady Grove Cemetery.
