Verna Ruth Dalbero, age 92, of Pasadena, CA, formerly of Russellville, died November 16, 2018, in Pasadena. Verna was born March 7, 1926, to Frank Elbert & Winifred (Turnbow) Burris at Saint Mary’s Hospital in Russellville. She was a loving, generous mother and grandmother who loved her church, watching tennis matches, gaming, cooking, gardening, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She worked most of her life in electronics and always excelled in anything she undertook to do, whether it was inspecting a circuit board or preparing a Thanksgiving dinner for her family. The inspiring example she set for her family was one of never giving up; to always keep going and always keep trying.
Verna was preceded in death by her parents, and a daughter, Barbara J. Clemons. The family she leaves behind to cherish her sweet memory & rich legacy include a son, William B. Percival of Toronto, Ontario; three daughters, Teresa A. Boyle of Pasadena, CA; Sharon K. Wilson (Stuart) of Simi, CA; and Tami L. McQuhae of Allen, TX; nine grandchildren; Christina, Jessica, Jason, Daniel, Iain, Bradley, Caden, Macie and Maia; seven great-grandchildren; Kaley, Allison, Mary, Anfemee, Aiden, Desmond and Levi; and many other friends & relatives.
A service to celebrate Verna’s life will be held Wednesday, December 5, 2018, 2:00 PM, at Humphrey Funeral Chapel. Rev. Rick Smith will officiate. The family will greet friends beginning one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at St. Joe Cemetery in Atkins under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service.
