J. Eileen Seeger, 88, of Lafayette died Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at Signature Health Care.
She was born August 7, 1925, in Lafayette to the late Cull and Lola Johnson Goddard.
Eileen graduated from Lafayette Jefferson High School in 1943 and Home Hospital School of Nursing in 1948. Following her graduation, she worked as a nurse for Dr. Arett Arnett at the Arnett Clinic and at Home Hospital. On January 26, 1950, she married William F. Seeger in Lafayette, and he preceded her in death on December 20, 2004.
She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church where she was active in many church projects. Eileen was on the Board of Directors of Cary Home and member of Delta Theta Tau Soroity. Her best times were spent with her family. She was an avid Purdue football and basketball fan and enjoyed attending the games. She also enjoyed sewing and crafts. She loved music, dancing, and playing the organ.
Surviving are her children, Jay T. Seeger, wife Kathy, of Lafayette, Jill C. Smith, husband Ken, of Hudson, OH, and 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Eileen was preceded in death by brothers, Clay, Leslie and Russell Goddard, and sisters, Gail Gould and Jane Long Gott.
Visitation will be at 9:00 AM at St. Boniface Catholic Church with a Mass of Christian Burial immediately following at 10:00 AM on Saturday. Burial will be at St. Boniface Cemetery.
