Married to Willard Huyck in 1969, the two teamed up to write screenplays for several movies, including "American Graffiti", "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom", "Star Wars" (uncredited) and "Howard the Duck", which she also produced. In collaboration with George Lucas, she and her husband wrote the screenplay for "American Graffiti", which was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay in 1973. She was a member of the board of the Writers Guild of America, adviser for the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, and chairwoman of the Photographic Arts Council Los Angeles. She died at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center from ovarian cancer.
