Born in Stoughton, a son of the late Vernon and Jennie (McEwan) Overton, he was raised in Stoughton he was a graduate of Don Bosco Technical High School in Boston.
Charles was employed as a printer for the Foxboro Company and Old Colony Regional High School.
He is survived by two brothers, John Overton and his wife Leonne of Canton and William Overton and his wife Deanna of Manchester, CT.; a brother-in-law, Henry Chipman of Stoughton, a cousin, Edward McEwan of North Easton; and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Dolores Burrows and Kathleen Chipman.
