❦ Early Life: Robert "Bob" was born July 2, 1928, in Downey, Utah, to Percy Norman and Leona Celinda Hutchings Beckstead, the cherished baby of the family. Bob graduated from White Pine High School in Ely, Nevada.
❦ Life's Work | Service | Interests: Immediately following high school graduation, he joined the United States Army, serving for two years. He then attended University of Utah and graduated from Brigham Young University. Bob was a gifted athlete, excelling in basketball, baseball and football. In addition to his athletic endeavors on the court, diamond and field, Bob was an accomplished golfer. He teamed up with Billy Casper one year to win the Utah Pro-Am and would go on to sink four holes-in-one. He began his finance career at Continental Bank of Utah. He then went on to serve as executive vice president at Murray First Thrift & Loan and then co-founded Copper State Thrift & Loan, where he made many dear lifelong friends. He also consulted for Stokes Market until he was 90 years old. Bob served on the boards of numerous organizations, including Utah Consumer Finance Association as president, Utah Opera Society as president and Utah Chamber of Commerce. A devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Bob served as a missionary at Temple Square. He loved sharing his testimony with people from all walks of life and from all corners of the globe. He also served in many callings, including high council, ward clerk and stake Sunday School president. He will be remembered for his compassion, powerful testimony, unwavering integrity and his willingness to assist anyone in need. On Sunday, November 25, 2018, Robert Byron "Bob" Beckstead, husband, father, son and brother, passed away at his home in Provo, Utah. He was 90 years old.

❦ Survived By: Robert will be forever remembered by his wife and best friend, Candyce; their precious children: Robert Beckstead (Kristen), Stephen Beckstead (Becky), Kathy Julian, David Beckstead (Ann), Julie Updike (Alan), McCann McDaniel (Will), Scott Beckstead (Erin), Zack Beckstead (Shannon); his sister, Eloise Stokes (Harold). Robert will also be forever remembered by his numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
