FUNERAL SERVICES FOR J. C. BURNS HELD AT DRESDEN

Funeral services for J. C. Burns aged 84 years, who died at his home in Blooming Grove Monday morning at 10:30 were held from the church at Dresden Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock.

Burial was in the Dresden Cemetery and the rites were conducted by Rev. Mr. Johnson, Church of Christ minister at Pursley, assisted by Rev. D. P. Cagle Baptist minister of Frost.

Surviving are his wife, six sons, John Burns, Blooming Grove; Will Burns, Pursley; Claude Burns, Blooming Grove; Fred Burns, Blooming Grove; Bob Burns, Blooming Grove; Clyde Burns, Pursley; two daughters, Mrs. C. M. Peabody, Corsicana; Mrs. Myrtle Smith, Tom Ball; 24 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and other relatives.

Mr. Burns has been a resident of Navarro county practically all his life, and had resided at Blooming Grove about four years.

Husband of Arabelle (Morris) Burns; son of Rev. Calvin Alexander Burns and Martha Caroline (Wilhite) Burns.
